Trees fascinate me deeply. Its interesting that the first organism to make landfall on ancient earth, to begin building toward the sun, are also the simplest of fractals in their shape. I read once that the ancestor of all trees was a type of fungus that grew tall to spread its spores and had to harden its base to do so.
